Parliament House Courtyards CanberraHead to the Hill 2024
The 2024 BTAA Head to the Hill event is being held inside the beautiful open courtyards of Australia’s Parliament House on Wednesday 20 November at 8:00am-12:00pm.
Join us at this important national event to help us raise awareness of the horrific effects and unimproved life expectancy from brain tumours and to communicate the devastating financial, social, physical, cognitive and emotional impact to patients, families, carers and society.
This event will provide our community with the opportunity to take part in the following ways:
RELAY THE IMPACT
Members and Senators will be joining us in the Parliament House courtyards.
This is an opportunity for those who can attend in person in Canberra to connect with politicians and to advocate for much-needed action.
If you can’t make it in person, you can still have an impact by sending a letter to your Federal MP or Senator encouraging them to make the time to come out onto the lawn and speak with the BTAA community.
If you receive confirmation from your local member that they will be present, please email secretary@btaa.org.au and advise us your local member may be attending.

Please contact us if you have any questions regarding the event or issues with the registration process.
VISUALISE THE IMPACT
We are going to visualise the impact of brain tumours through the placing of shoes around the courtyard lawns. Shoes clearly visualise that brain tumours affect everybody regardless of age, gender or background and provide a powerful and impactful message to parliamentarians and to society.
But to make this happen we need you to send in a pair of shoes that represent anyone you know (or yourself) who has been affected by a brain tumour.
Please consider sending a personal photo and/or message to be placed with the shoes. Parliamentarians and attendees take the opportunity to view the photos and read the messages associated with the shoes. Let's put faces and stories to the numbers and show Parliament the true impact of brain cancer.
Please follow the link below to send shoes, photo and message.

This is a national event and BTAA is working with other national brain tumour support and research entities to make sure your messages to Government are heard. Many national and local brain tumour communities will be present and united in taking the opportunity to deliver the important message.
This event is an opportunity to let politicians know how you feel - regardless of whether you can attend in person or can support in other ways. Your voice and unity is cherished by the many people this devastating disease affects.
Please join or support us!
BTAA is an entirely volunteer-run organisation. Any donations to assist run this event would be greatly appreciated.
