Many people describe life after a brain tumour as discovering a “new normal”. Priorities often shift — what once felt urgent may matter less, while relationships, creativity, rest, or simply enjoying everyday moments can take on new meaning.

Purpose can look different for everyone. Some people find it in reconnecting with hobbies, spending time with loved ones, or exploring new interests. Others feel drawn to advocacy, volunteering, mentoring or sharing their story to support and inspire others. Many survivors say that contributing to something bigger than themselves helps them feel grounded, connected and hopeful.

If you’re interested in getting involved, BTAA offers opportunities to share your lived experience, support others and help strengthen the national voice for people affected by brain tumours.
