ABCF Brain Cancer Monthly Family Support Group (FSG) Program

The Brain Cancer Monthly Family Support Group (FSG) Program is an initiative of the Australian Brain Cancer Foundation (ABCF) aimed at alleviating the emotional, mental and social pressures of brain cancer for patients and their families and carers. This program will provide direct assistance to those facing the challenges of a brain cancer diagnosis, helping to improve their quality of life.

Session Details:

Location: Griffith Neighbourhood Centre (53 Stuart Street, Griffith, ACT 2603)

Day: Every third Sunday

Time: 1:00 – 3:00pm

TBCG/BTAA Morning Tea Conversations (North Sydney)

A brain cancer journey can feel isolating, but you don’t have to face it alone. The Morning Tea Conversations Support groups, in partnership with Brain Tumour Alliance Australia (BTAA), bring together patients, families, and professionals who understand exactly what you’re going through.

The group meets at North Shore Private Hospital.

Peace of Mind Foundation support groups

Peace of Mind Foundation offer a number of support and information sessions via Zoom and in person for brain cancer patients and carers. They are facilitated by Peace of Mind staff with a high level of experience and capacity to meet patients and carers at whatever level of interest or concern.

Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre

Olivia Newton-John Cancer & Wellness Centre Brain Tumour Support Service (Melbourne)

The Brain Tumour Support Service is available to people diagnosed with a primary malignant brain tumour, as well as their family, friends and carers. This service provides information, counselling and support and can be accessed in a number of ways.

This group meets at the ONJ Wellness Centre, Melbourne on the second Wednesday of every month at 10:30am

Olivia Newton-John Cancer & Wellness Centre Brain Space:

Online Support for Younger People with Brain Tumours

Facilitated by the Brain Tumour Support Service (BTSS), Brain Space is an online support group for younger people. It is open to people aged 18 to 39 diagnosed with a primary malignant brain tumour.

This group meets online on the fourth Tuesday of every month.

The BTSS provide support for carers and family members through their monthly support forum : Supporting Someone with Brain Cancer forum. These groups specifically for carers.

Liverpool Hospital Brain Tumour Education and Support Group

The Cancer Therapy Centre at Liverpool Hospital hosts an Education and Support program for people who have been diagnosed with a Brain Tumour.

The meetings focus on various topics relating to brain tumours and provide opportunities for attendees to share experiences and discuss issues of concern in a supportive environment while enjoying a light refreshment. The group welcomes family, friends and support persons to attend with the patient.

The Liverpool Hospital Brain Injury Education and Support Group is held 4 times per year, the last Friday of February, May, August, and November from 10AM to 12PM.
